Vicka returns after third back surgery

Visionary Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic drew 5,000 people for her first public appearance outside of Medjugorje this year. Her apparition lasted almost 12 minutes before police and security guards had to struggle to keep the crowd from Vicka who just underwent her third operation in one year.

Recovering from the third operation in her back in one year, Medjugorje visionary Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic was treated as “handle with care” on Saturday when Corridonia, Italy, staged her first meeting with the public away from Medjugorje in 2012.

About 5,000 people gave a warm welcome to the visionary who took the stage after the attendees had prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Vicka next led the crowd in praying the Rosary before talking for 25 minutes and having one of her very rare public apparitions for 11.27 minutes, a long one compared to those of her fellow Medjugorje visionaries.

“People tried to reach her in any way, but the security service was good. Then, as soon as Vicka found the occasion to lean towards the people, they give a hard time to the police in trying to keep them away” long-time Medjugorje devotee Marco Piagentini tells Medjugorje Today.

About 40 people served as security guards, plus four offical policemen. They got particularly busy when Vicka was to leave the open air arrangement. The seer still suffers from the back injury she contracted when a pilgrim came to close to her in June 2011, and which since has been sending her through three operations in Rome.

“Before leaving, she said “Listen, I just had the third operation in my back. I would like to touch everyone of you, but I give you all of my heart.” The people understood. But it took her a good 20 minutes to find her way to the car while her husband tried to protect her” Marco Piagentini reports from Corridonia.

The main celebrant among the five priests who concelebrated Mass informed that the local Bishop of Fermo was aware of the meeting, authorized it, and sent his greetings and blessings.

According to Vicka’s own words in the video below, the Virgin Mary asked the attendees to put more work into strengthening their faith.

“Tonight the Madonna stretched out her hands and prayed long and hard for all of us. She gave her motherly blessing to all. In her message she asked us here to pray for the gift of faith. So Our Lady wants that we pray every day for this gift to grow stronger inside our hearts, more alive” Vicka said.

Vicka’s closing remarks reflected that the prayer meeting in Corridonia was in remembrance of the son of the meeting organizer who died at age 18 in a car accident exactly one year earlier, on September 1st 2011.

Vicka is a close friend of the entire family, and when the late young man was an infant, Vicka held him for his baptism. Now she said:

“Now he is close to us, safe and delighted. Every day it is up for some of us. We all think that life here is everything there is, but there is more. We must always be strong. Life here is only a passage. Here the Queen of Peace blesses you all with her love, with her peace.”
