Figure appeared in photo of key spot
Visionary Ivan Dragicevic often tells about the first day of the apparitions by taking pilgrims for a walk. One day when he had shown where Mary first appeared, a woman got her photo taken as she pointed to the spot. Once the photo was processed, a lightning figure stood on the hillside.

When John Smith had been to Medjugorje six years ago, he received a special souvenir upon his return to South Carolina, USA.
On a photo from Apparition Hill, a figure of golden light could be seen on the spot where the visionaries say they first saw the Virgin Mary.
“In May 2006, my daughter and I made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. We stayed at (the visionary) Ivan’s dormitory apartment. One morning Ivan took us on a walking tour and told us about the first days that Our Lady appeared. He pointed to the place on the mountain where he first saw her” John Smith tells Medjugorje Today.

“Afterwards a girl in our group called Mary Jane had a friend take a picture of her pointing to that place. She was kind enough to email us a copy of the photo.”
Among a multitude of so-called inexplicable Medjugorje photos, John Smith’s picture is most likely unique, as the only one to show a figure appearing on the spot where the seers say they first saw the Virgin Mary. In spite of this, the photo has never been published before.
“Quite frankly, I have not shown this picture to many people. After being to Medjugorje three times, twice staying with Ivan, and seeing all of the miraculous things that go on there on a daily basis, I never thought of this picture as being any kind of a big deal” John Smith explains.
