A couple of local, yellow-shirted bodyguards to pave the way through the crowd are all the security measures it takes when visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo has her apparitions on the second day of each month at The Blue Cross, Medjugorje.
Differently on Thursday when the apparition will take place in Naples, Italy.
Along with her husband and three pairs of their friends, Mirjana arrived in Naples by car about 6:00 pm on Wednesday, organizer Nietta Nocerino tells the major regional newspaper Il Mattino. The group will stay in a downtown hotel whose name is being kept top secret to avoid it from being besieged by the faithful, Nocerino informs. She expects a quick dinner to be enjoyed in a restaurant near the hotel.
At Palavesuvio, the largest sports hall in Naples, doors will open at midnight, about the same time the first pilgrims usually turn up for Mirjana’s apparitions at The Blue Cross, and so 8 hours before Mirjana arrives at the dome. Police will be present from people enter the sports hall until the arrangement is over. Police agents have visited the hall on several occasions beforehand, seeking to foresee any possible emergency.
Nietta Nocerino expects even more people than the 15,000 who attended the apparition when Mirjana last visited Naples two years ago, also on February 2. A least a dozen buses are awaited from Rome, and many from Milan, Palermo, and Catania.
A video about Medjugorje will be screened inside the hall from about 4:00 am, followed by a vigil and the Rosary until 6:00 am. When an hour of Eucharistic Adoration ends at 7:00 am, about 50 priests will be in place to mark Candlemass and concelebrate the liturgy of The Presentation in the Temple.
Il Mattino will live transmit the entire event on the newspapers’s website, starting about 6:00 am local time (GMT +1).
